Department Overview:  The Mayer Fire Department is a combination, district that provides fire suppression, fire prevention, wildland protection, advanced life support, rescue, extrication, and medical transportation services out of 3 fulltime stations to approximately 8,000 residents in a 52 square mile district.  In addition, the Mayer Fire Department also covers an additional 250 square miles outside of the district that adds another 2,000 people for a total service area of approximately 302 square miles and approximately 10,000 residents.  This includes being first due to areas of the Prescott National Forest, BLM Lands, State Lands, and the Agua Fria National Monument.

The Mayer Fire Department also covers over 25 miles of I-17, the major four lane Interstate that is the main route between the Phoenix area and northern Arizona, as well as over 13 miles of State Route 69, the main arterial between I-17 and Prescott.

Area Information:  The Mayer area is located one hour north of the Phoenix metro area and 30 minutes west of Prescott.  At an elevation of 4,500 ft., we experience all seasons which is perfect for outdoor activities with surrounding public access.
